PV monitoring dataThe BFH-TI in Burgdorf has carried out long term monitoring on many grid connected PV plants since 1992. At the moment 10 plants are monitored analytically with detailed measurements. Every 2 seconds in-plane solar radiation (with a pyranometer and a reference cell), module temperature, ambient temperatures, DC current, DC voltage, AC power and line voltage are measured. At present the normalized yearly analysis of 10 plants are available.
In order to compare energy production and performance of PV plants of different size and at different locations, JRC at ISPRA/Italy introduced a very useful method for normalized analysis and presentation of monitoring data. This method was extended and improved by us (especially for grid connected systems). Introducing new quantities for normalized power and splitting capture losses into thermal and non-thermal losses allows detailed on-line and off-line analysis of sporadic system malfunctions (e.g. MPP-tracking errors, shadowing or snow covering of the solar generator etc.). The following long term monitoring data is published in this extented normalized analysis and presentation (information below about normalized analysis click to enlarge).
