PV-plant Localnet Gsteighof

The plant is mounted on the roof of a school building in Burgdorf (540m) and is operated by the local utility (Localnet AG). It started operation in 1995, is equipped with a central inverter with transformer and is built with modules with metal frames with a tilt angle of 30°. Monitoring started in course of July 1995.

At PV plants in the lower parts of Switzerland, where it is often foggy or overcast in autumn and winter, energy production varies very much between a high maximum value in summer and a deep minimum in winter. Winter energy fraction at such locations is below 30%.

The analytical monitoring system has end up his operations in mid 2009 due to a inverter reparation which damaged some measurement lines of the monitoring system. The new control system of the inverter is not anymore compatible with our system. A global monitoring system instead is planned.
